The objective of the project was to introduce and present GIS tools in an humanitarian context, and to analyze the needs and capacities of Groupe URD, in order to ass which could be the inputs of geomatic technologies in the Groupe URD, and how CartONG could implement them.
Through this training in the form of an introduction to tools and constrains implied (get, stock and analyse information). CartONG’s expertise enables to find some trails to evaluate cost/investment return of an implementation and to reach advantages. The NGO needs a GIS to make its evaluation conclusions more relevant thanks to maps and in order to back up available information during analysis and evaluations.
Groupe URD is strongly interested in geographic information. Indeed, this structure develop data-processing tools in order to answer to different missions like statistical analysis, elaboration of dashboard and indicators in a global process of evaluation. In this framework, a well-mastered spatial information contribute to the realisation of relevant documents.
