New MEAL training course for field staff

CartONG and Groupe URD launch a new online training course to help field-based staff implement Quality & Accountability commitments in a crisis response. The next session will take place online from 30 September to 6 December 2024.

In the ever-evolving landscape of humanitarian aid, ensuring the quality and accountability of your projects is key. But how do you stay ahead in this dynamic field? How do you ensure that your decisions are informed, your strategies effective, and your impact maximized? Our comprehensive training “MEAL in Practice: Putting Quality & Accountability at the Centre of Crisis Response” is designed to address these very challenges.

What to expect?

Humanitarian organizations must be agile and responsive, especially during crises. This means project teams need to be proficient in the latest Quality & Accountability (Q&A) concepts, methods, and tools. This ten-week course, running from September 30 to December 6, 2024, offers a deep dive into Quality & Accountability principles and data management. Participants will learn to define key Q&A concepts, implement Q&A frameworks effectively, manage data basics, and develop resilient field-proof information systems.

Designed for both technical and generalist profiles within the humanitarian sector, it is tailored to field-based staff who already possess foundational knowledge in these areas. Participants will work on a case study throughout the course, whilst also building on their own real-life experience and scenarios. This will enhance their ability to implement what they learn immediately.

The pedagogical approach of the training is designed specifically for the humanitarian working environment. The content is broken down into short, accessible learning objectives to help learners engage with the training for the duration of the course, despite the time constraints emergency practitioners face.

Who should enroll?

This course is ideal for field staff with a background in humanitarian or development sectors, particularly those in MEAL roles, program coordinators, and information management specialists. Participants are expected to have several years of experience in the sector, a solid understanding of the project cycle, and proficiency in English.
