March 23rd, 2018
Dear all,
We are very happy to announce that the 2018 GeOnG Forum will take place at Le Manège Congress Center in Chambéry (France) from October 29th to 31st. The main theme of this year's edition will be:
'Perfection' versus 'Good enough' in Information Management
Adjusting to context, scale, phase & funding
The 'good enough' principle has been of increasing interest in the humanitarian and international development sectors, for its potential implications for people, tools, processes or practices. Why would developing 'good enough' information management solutions sometimes be better than aiming for perfection?
We hope to engage discussions on how to tailor information management solutions to a given context, scale, phase or funding; while also paying attention to key stakes in the sector such as responsible data practices, capacity-building, interoperability of data & systems, or user-friendly and human-centered tool design.
As usual, we will rely on your contribution to come up with relevant and innovative content for the 3-day Forum. To this end and for the first time, we will launch an open call for suggestions in April to encourage all organizations and individuals to submit ideas for the 2018 GeOnG program.
In the meantime, if you already have recommendations or would like to express interest in sponsoring the event, feel free to contact Martin & Nina at: geong@cartong.org

Thank you for your support! We are very much looking forward to seeing you all again in October.
