Our staff worked for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Uganda, doing creation and maintenance of return monitoring database, collection and compilation of GPS coordinates, production of maps, and capacity building of local staff.

This project helped ACF-US and governmental partners to set up and maintain over time the Water Information Management System of South Sudan. The solution chosen to ensure than field teams could update the information on a regular basis was Akvo Flow.

At the end of the project, an Aweil East State Water Points Functionality Map was also published.

Many programs have implemented blanket supplementary feeding activities  which often consist of several distributions per day. This is demanding in resources and difficult to ensure that every child  has equal access to the program. UNHCR and Partners are interested in piloting monitoring programs in a refugee camps to analyze how well the intended food distributions are reaching the target groups. In most operations the food distribution has been monitored on paper based lists which is time consuming and difficult to use for analysis.
