The Forum of Geographic Information for Relief and Development GeOnG is back, like every two years!
After two editions focused on tools such as mobile data collection (2010) and cloud applications in humanitarian field (2012), CartONG is taking a step back and looking at the shift from data to information. If data is easily collected and readily available, the issue of turning it into useful information remains, taking into account the field needs ? How do we manage to find the information that will be relevant, and separate it from the rest ? How do we avoid information overload ?
