"Good enough" in an emergency context: sharing experiences from the field.
Based on the last emergency (Bangladesh during the first 3-6 months), Information Management Officers (IMOs) and emergency field staff will present their experience by answering the following questions: 1- Amongst the tool and processes they have implemented, which ones are considered good enough in the emergency context? 2- Have Open Data platforms and initiatives (HDX, Open Aerial Map) found their place in the emergency phase? 3- Do NGOs really use the full portfolio of services that they can access that is to day data, products, tools and platforms? During this roundtable, we will look at various tools and solutions ranging from satellite imagery, OpenStreetMap, as well as data portals maintained by organizations and platforms (HDX, reliefweb...).
Scheduled on Tuesday 30/10 between 9:30am to 11am.
