Yoana Cardon - Civic Service Volunteer
Yoana joined CartONG in October 2023 as a civic service volunteer. After 2 years of studying law, she realized that her degree lacked an international dimension. This prompted Yoana to complete her third year of her degree in Canada. At the same time, she completed a university degree in humanitarian and international aid. These two opportunities opened up new perspectives and reinforced her choices: geopolitics, human rights and the humanitarian field. At the end of her degree, Yoana decided to take a gap year to gain experience in a domain she particularly enjoys, to improve her English and Spanish, and to travel, all in order to determine her future field of study. In her free time, Yoana enjoys hiking in the mountains, traveling or simply reading a good book and drinking a cup of coffee with friends and family! Contact: y_cardon [at] cartong [dot] org |

Edmond Wach - President
Edmond joined the CartONG Board in June 2021 as Vice-President, before becoming its President in June 2022. He has over 10 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, having worked mainly with operational NGOs (Solidarités International, Terre des hommes, etc.) both in the field and in headquarters, on issues of information management, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), capacity building and technical support. After many years as a volunteer and supporter of CartONG, Edmond joined the CartONG staff team as Project Manager and DPO in 2018 before leaving the organization at the end of 2020, to try a new, more local adventure. He now assists local authorities in Savoie with their IT issues. Edmond wanted to join the board to continue his associative commitment to CartONG in a new way. With a broader perspective, he wishes to support the organization in the changes that await it: localization of aid, governance and economic model are all subjects that are important to him. Maud Hazan - Secretary Maud first joined the Board of CartONG in June 2022 as a Member, after several years of collaboration with the CartONG's team on development sector projects. She then became Secretary in June 2023. Coming from a multidisciplinary background rooted in the social sciences (economics, sociology), Maud first worked at the French Development Agency (AFD) as an evaluation officer and project manager on partnerships between the research world and development practitioners. Her professional and personal commitment is to facilitate these connections between academic research, data and action. CartONG has sparked her interest for spatial analysis issues following a citizen-oriented and transparent approach, which is now leading her to specialize in the field of geomatics for urban projects and communities. Motivated by both the associative and technical commitment of CartONG and freshly arrived in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, she hopes to bring to the team her enthusiasm and her time to contribute to the main endavors of the association! Patrick Fuchs - Treasurer
Due to his professional background, Patrick was contacted by a member of Board of CartONG in 2019 to encourage him to run for the position of Treasurer. Indeed, after studying economics (DEA, SCIENCES PO Paris) and management (IAE Paris), and starting his professional career in the banking and economic studies sector, Patrick resolutely opted for a career in business management (human resources, administration, finance, legal, etc.) which he practiced in various organizations including private companies and non-profit organizations. He retired in 2019, as Deputy Managing Director of an agricultural research organization, in charge of its management. His involvement in the associative sector as a volunteer in an organization helping refugees find work, and the values carried by CartONG led him to agree to run as candidate to the Board. Thus, after having informally advised the Board of CartONG for almost a year, Patrick was officially elected to the Board as Treasurer in June 2020. We are delighted to welcome him and to be able to benefit from his rich experience. Contact: p_fuchs [at] cartong [dot] org |

Jean-Paul Nicoletti - Conciliator Jean-Paul is a curious mind, always keen to explore and experiment with new tools and digital interfaces. Fascinated by the idea of using new technologies for social impact and humanitarian work, Jean-Paul joined CartONG as a volunteer in 2014, quickly rising to the position of elected Board member in 2015. Jean-Paul plays a very important role within the organization, acting as Conciliator for the Board and providing guidance and support to the Management team and any staff member seeking advice. Jean-Paul has also been extensively involved with the Missing Maps project in France, frequently participating in mapathons as well as actively contributing to OSM. Jean-Paul has had a long career in agricultural engineering, through which he has developed extensive knowledge in agronomy, economics, computer sciences and statistics. Thanks to his extensive professional and volunteering experience with CartONG, Jean-Paul has been able to provide advanced support to the organisation. This was notably the case during CartONG’s web-mapping CNLS project in 2017, at the occasion of which Jean-Paul gave a week mapping training in Madagascar. François-Xavier "Fix" Dosogne - Member of the Board Fix got to know CartONG in 2015 while working for MSF as a substitute GIS focal point for the Brussels operational center. Passionate about Information Management (IM) and digital innovation, he then started collaborating with CartONG on new GIS dashboard projects as well as on experience sharing between NGOs via the organization of workshops and his participation in the IM community of practice for French-speaking NGOs. During a 4-year mission in Lebanon for Solidarités International, he kept on working on open source geomapping server projects as well as on building the skills of local teams, a key element for the sustainability of a mission's GIS services. Very interested in CartONG's activities, especially on the IM aspect, he joined the Board in June 2022 in order to put his field experience and his knowledge of the sector at the service of the association. Nina-Flore Eissen - Member of the Board Nina joined the Board in June 2023. She knows the association very well, having worked at CartONG for over 5 years, first as an Administrative and Communications Officer and then Coordinator, before becoming the first Communications Manager in CartONG's history in September 2020. After her departure in January 2023, Nina joined the Paris-based advocacy NGO Global Health Advocates, which works on issues surrounding health access worldwide, still as Communications Manager. Nina has held a variety of positions in different sectors - including academia, international cooperation and associative sector - in France and abroad over the last 10 years. By joining the Board, she hopes to bring her enthusiasm, her knowledge of the association, her pragmatism and her “can do” attitude to the organization, and to support, at her level, some of the big endeavors currently underway.
