Why become a CartONG volunteer?
Without your support, many projects would not come to life. Staff & volunteers work hand in hand at CartONG on many projects!
Concretely, how can I help?
CartONG welcomes volunteers from all backgrounds and of all ages! You don’t have to be a GIS specialist to help! We need support in mapping, web-development, data management, GIS but also in project coordination, communication, design, video editing, translation - to name a few of the skill sets we are interested in!
Here are a few examples of collaborations: map created by a volunteer in support of a project in Haiti with CARE, support to the GeOnG Forum every two years, video for the 2019 Nuit de la Géographie created by a volunteer & MDC toolkit translated to French by volunteers.
How can I get involved in volunteer activities?
All our events, gatherings and one-off volunteer missions are announced on social networks: follow us on Facebook or Twitter to stay updated!
What are the current volunteer initiatives?
To give you an overview of the projects we're currently working on, you can have a look at our Trello board.
Do I need to be a member to become a volunteer?
Please note that it is not necessary to be a member at CartONG to become a volunteer (and vice versa) but that we encourage all volunteers to also become members of the association to be able to participate in the internal decisions of CartONG via the yearly General Assembly and get access to all of our internal tools.
I’m interested in helping CartONG but don’t think I have enough time for volunteering. What else can I do?
If you’re interested in supporting CartONG, we encourage you to check out our Donation page and Membership page!
